The objective of phase one is to provide planning and design services for the anticipated expansion of the Selma Interpretive Center at 2 Broad Street into the adjacent historic first floor retail space at 4 Broad Street in Selma, Alabama. Phase two will provide for building improvements to 4 Broad Street that will included: a theater for 100 people; an elevator 2 additional ADA/ABA restrooms; interpretive space; exterior envelope rehabilitation on the roof and façades; construction of a rear stairway for fire egress; structural repair to the floors and roof; fire suppression; and enhancements to plumbing systems to support the aforementioned improvements.
