-This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) issued by the National Institute on Drug Abuse invites applications for grant funding to support behavioral and integrative treatment research that will have a meaningful impact on improving treatment for drug and alcohol abuse and dependence. -This FOA will use the NIH Small Research Grant (R03) award mechanism and runs in parallel with an FOA of identical scientific solicits applications under the traditional research project grant (R01), and PA-06-487, that solicits applications under the exploratory/developmental (R21) mechanism. -The R03 grant mechanism supports different types of projects including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.
