About this opportunity

Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Assistance Main_Content On October 28, 2012, Hurricane Sandy moved up the eastern seaboard. The effects of the storm were felt for several days throughout the State as it produced heavy rains, high winds, and snow. Significant coastal flooding occurred along the Chesapeake Bay. In response, the State was awarded $8.6 million from Congress through the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act. The funding was awarded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant Program. While every county suffered some level of damage from the storm, by far the most significant impact was felt in Somerset County. Consequently, all of the $8.6 million must be used for recovery activities in Somerset County.
