Georgia will receive $2.9 million to disperse to local governments throughout the state. The competitive funding is targeted towards small and disadvantaged communities. Local governments who received direct funding from the Department of Energy are ineligible for state EECBG funds. GEFA has selected a variety of EECBG Program Blueprints that local governments can apply for. EECBG Program Blueprints are model projects and programs designed to help local governments achieve high-impact results with limited grant dollars. Blueprints offer ideas in energy efficiency, renewable energy, transportation electrification, clean energy finance, and workforce development. The list of GEFA selected Blueprints includes: Blueprint #1: Energy Planning Blueprint #2A: Energy Efficiency - Energy Audits and Building Upgrades Blueprint #2B: Energy Savings Performance Contracts: Energy Efficiency and Electrification in Government Buildings Blueprint #3B: Community Solar Blueprint #3C: Solarize Campaign Blueprint #4A: Electric Vehicles and Fleet Electrification Blueprint #6: Workforce Development Key activity areas under each blueprint serve as a step-by-step guide for communities to follow. Each activity is accompanied by relevant tools and resources that go into much more detail. EECBG Program grantees are encouraged to consider blueprints as inspiration for ways they could use their grant dollars. Local governments interested in applying for the grant funding should review and select a Blueprint from the list above that aligns with the community’s energy goals and interests. GEFA EECBG Program details, including application process, will be announced soon. To receive updates about the application, subscribe to our EECBG Program mailing list .
