Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Maine MEP can assist with plant layout, equipment arrangement, and lean manufacturing flow recommendations to streamline your manufacturing process and help you grow production as efficiently as possible. Maine Mentor Network The key to unlocking your business’s growth potential may be learning from a more experienced business owner. The Maine Mentor Network at the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs creates space for this by giving entrepreneurs access to experienced mentors who want to help them succeed. Coastal Enterprises, Inc. (CEI) Business Advising CEI offers a variety of business advising programs for business owners that are looking to grow, including one-on-one consultations, training workshops, industry-specific advising, and resources for women-owned businesses. ACE (Association for Consulting Expertise) ACE maintains an online directory of members who provide consulting services to businesses. There is no vetting of these consultants, so any potential client needs to do their own due diligence. Brownfield Voluntary Response Action Program (VRAP) VRAP is a Department of Environmental Protection program that allows applicants to voluntarily investigate and clean up brownfield properties in exchange for protections from Department enforcement actions. Governor’s Award for Business Excellence These awards recognize Maine businesses that are models of excellence as the state works to realize its strategic economic development plan. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to apply. SCORE Maine SBA partner that provides free business mentoring for small businesses, including help with business planning, early-stage financing, and critical operational support. SCORE has chapters around the state which offer access to volunteer mentors and business education workshops. Maine Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) SBA partner that offers a wide array of business advising for Maine entrepreneurs.
