FCTO aims to provide reliable energy from diverse domestic resources, providing the benefits of increased energy security and reduced criteria pollutants and green-house gas emissions by adopting a technology–neutral approach towards applied demonstration to address both key technical challenges for fuel cells and hydrogen fuels ( hydrogen production, delivery and storage) and institutional barriers such as hydrogen codes and standards. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) covers a broad spectrum of the FCTO portfolio with 4 Areas of Interest (AOI): AOI 1: Research and development (R&D) for hydrogen fuel technologies AOI 2: Demonstration and deployment for manufacturing technologies and Climate Action Champions AOI 3: R&D within Consortia for fuel cell performance and durability and hydrogen storage materials AOI 4: Cost and performance analyses for hydrogen production and delivery, hydrogen storage, and fuel cells Submission schedules, cost sharing requirements, eligibility information, applicant requirements (including whether or not a Concept Paper is required), etc. vary by AOI.
