About this opportunity

-Purpose. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to stimulate interdisciplinary approaches to study the mechanisms of blastocyst implantation, with an emphasis on immunological approaches. Because of the complexity of human implantation and the lack of appropriate models systems, applications with more than one PD/PI are strongly encouraged to foster interdisciplinary research. Each project must be an independent research project. Project willing to collaborate with other investigators. Funded projects will join in semi-annual Collaborative Meetings to foster data sharing and larger collaborations. Findings derived from these collaborative approaches will provide greater insight into infertility due to implantation failure. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) award mechanism. Interdisciplinary applications with multiple PIs from different disciplines are strongly encouraged.
