Nevada Main Street is a holistic approach to downtown revitalization that includes historic preservation, community economic vitality.  It supports business creation and retention to create and sustain healthy and economically vibrant communities, with a primary focus on improving quality of life for residents. Supported by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development and built on the Main Street America framework, the program integrates historic preservation, economic development, community local engagement to create thriving districts. Since launching in 2017, Nevada Main Street has grown to include 30 organizations across 35 communities. Its flexible approach supports both rural and urban areas, helping local leaders organize efforts, attract investment, support small businesses, and enhance quality of life. OUR IMPACT Nevada Main Street by the Numbers Nevada Main Street strengthens communities through grants, strategic planning, technical assistance, and local revitalization projects. In 2026, the program supported 31 projects across 20 communities and now includes 30 Main Street organizations representing 35 communities statewide. From downtown murals in Winnemucca to small business incubators in Wells and community gathering spaces in Hawthorne, these initiatives are helping Nevada’s Main Streets thrive and grow.
