Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) DEEP administers environmental programs that protect human health and the environment. By integrating cleanups with redevelopment, DEEP promotes responsible growth and improves the quality of life for all of Connecticut's citizens. DEEP works with the Office of Brownfield Redevelopment to resolve complex environmental issues that can arise in brownfield projects. Department of Transportation (DOT) DOT manages Connecticut’s roadways, public transit, airports and ports infrastructure. DOT’s expertise is crucial in implementing the state’s transit-oriented-development (TOD) initiatives. Department of Agriculture (DOAG) Agriculture is a $2 billion state industry. Open space and active agricultural land is a key ingredient to the state’s responsible growth strategies. The state DOAG programs can help communities balance development with their agricultural resources. Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) The Environmental Protection Agency offers several federal brownfields programs. Economic Development Administration (EDA) DECD coordinates economic development programs closely with our federal EDA partners to provide funding assistance for public infrastructure and brownfield projects. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HUD’s HOME, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Brownfields Economic Development Initiative (BEDI) programs are key financial programs  to support housing and community development. Regional Connecticut’s Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Management Teams prioritize and coordinate economic development projects, especially those eligible for EDA funding.
