CDC announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2021 funds to implement CDC-RFA-DP21-2105, Promoting Population Health through Increased Capacity in Alcohol Epidemiology and the Prevention of Excessive Alcohol Use. The purpose of this NOFO is to build state capacity in alcohol epidemiology and provide the tools and information needed to perform core public health functions related to excessive alcohol use prevention in states. This increased epidemiologic capacity will help build the public health infrastructure that is needed to reduce excessive alcohol use – a leading preventable cause of death in the The NOFO includes an additional component for the delivery of expert technical assistance and training on population-level evidence-based strategies for preventing excessive alcohol use and related harms in states and communities, such as those recommended by the Community Preventive Services Task Force. The period of performance is 5 years with a 12-month budget period and an anticipated award date of 9/30/2021.
