About this opportunity

The Embassy Bishkek Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the Department of State announces an open competition to promote Math (STEM) education and investment in the Kyrgyz Republic. Poor access to STEM educational resources, particularly in rural provinces, limits economic opportunity throughout the Kyrgyz Republic, contributing to brain drain and outmigration. For Kyrgyzstanis to harness STEM opportunities being developed in the United States, there is an urgent need to expand rural STEM educational opportunities, equip educators to teach STEM topics, attract STEM investment, and modernize the STEM education curriculum. By focusing on these priorities, this program will prepare young Kyrgyzstani citizens for careers in STEM fields, create partnership opportunities for businesses and investors, and reduce outmigration by creating domestic economic opportunities. Finally, the program will establish the United States – the global leader in STEM training – as the partner of choice for the Kyrgyz Republic as it opens new markets.
