About this opportunity

The Utah Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has ARRA funding available to work with various entities in its native plant and sensitive (TES) rare plant and animal programs for the purposes of preserving and creating jobs and promoting economic recovery; assisting those most impacted by the recession; providing investments needed to increase economic efficiency by spurring technological advances in science and; investing in transportation, environmental protection, and other infrastructure that will provide long-term economic benefits. These projects will provide local Universities, non-profit organizations, and State agencies provide employment opportunities for those interested in natural resource management. The six specific projects identified in this RFA are all concerned with some aspect of natural resource management. They range from the inventory and monitoring of rare plants and animals to the determination of fire history and the impact of wild fire on native vegetation. The objective of this effort is to provide employment opportunities and provide critical information that can be used in the management of rare and native plant and animal species and their habitats located on BLM administered lands in Utah.
