Funded by the Department of Energy, the SEP supports energy programs in the areas of agriculture and industry, building energy efficiency, government and public facilities, and renewable energy and alternative fuels. The SEP is currently offering these programs and initiatives in Georgia: Building Operator Certification GEFA provides scholarships for K-12 and higher education building maintenance operators to receive the nationally-accredited Building Operator Certification® (BOC) training. Technical Assistance Program for Schools Designed for K-12 schools in Georgia, the Technical Assistance Program for Schools (TAPS) helps school districts develop an energy management program. Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Equipment Technician Courses GEFA and Gwinnett Technical College partnered together to offer scholarship funding to students interested in learning about the growing electric vehicle infrastructure and its expanding demand. Scholarships cover tuition of the student and personal protective equipment (PPE) to utilize during the course and in the field. During the the 50-hour course, students learn about charger installation insights, EV charging best practices.
