About this opportunity

As the National Park Service enters its 21st century, it is committed to reconnecting the American people to both the natural world and to our nationâ¿¿s rich historic and cultural heritage. In support of these interests, the NPS seeks out partners that help to amplify the diverse historic places that form the proud heritage of our nation. With a goal of ensuring that all Americans experience the powerful connection between culture and place that the NPS is so uniquely suited to make possible. Together, the NPS and the FDFI agree to jointly collaborate and coordinate education, service learning, and special events to inform park audiences about the life and times of Frederick Douglas; to create opportunities that serve as a catalyst to push forward on the complex and difficult questions of ethnicity; to increase awareness of modern day slavery; and to broaden awareness and deepen the relationship Americans have with the cultural resources of the National Park Service.
