Grants are to support new, innovative projects that will develop sustainable urban and community forestry programs, not to subsidize routine forestry activities. Applications are not being accepted at this time. Startup grants Startup grants are competitive cost-share grants of up to $5,000. These simplified grants are available to communities that want to start or restart an urban forestry program. Applications are not being accepted at this time. Catastrophic storm grants Catastrophic storm grants fund tree repair, removal or replacement within urban areas following a catastrophic storm event for which the governor has declared a state of emergency under s. 323.10, Wis. Stats. Applications are being accepted until 11:59pm, June 12, 2026.
