About this opportunity

The purpose of this Grant of federal assistance is to transfer funding to the Calhoun County Highway Department to replace the Deer Plain Road Bridge, which is owned by Calhoun County. This road is the primary entrance road to the Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge. To accomplish this goal, Recipient intends to complete designs and re-construct bridge using state standard design guidelines. These actions will help provide safe access to the refuge. Work is all being completed on a county road within the Recipient's jurisdiction. This project will realign an existing bridge and road that currently present a driving hazard and an erosion concern. By using the County's designs, contracting and constructions programs the Service will pay less for the project then what the design costs would be alone if we were to award a construction project.
