Recruitment & Training Incentives Virginia Talent Accelerator Program The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program, delivered by VEDP in partnership with the Virginia Community College System, provides intentionally crafted, world-class training and recruitment solutions that are fully customized to a company’s unique standards, and culture. All developed and delivered services are provided at no cost to qualified new and expanding companies as an incentive for job creation and capital investment. Recruiting services can include customized websites, job opportunity advertising, and world-class videos telling the story of the unique job and lifestyle opportunities at a company’s Virginia location. Recruitment advertising also includes media content development, and ad buys on behalf of the company. Pre-employment experiences, giving employers and opportunity to preview job candidates and candidates the opportunity to preview the work, are offered to support job opportunity fit with intent to minimize new hire turnover. Job-specific training services are crafted using advanced methodologies including multi-media as collaboratively determined to increase learning efficiency and speed to competency. Training can include hands-on experiential learning, work simulations (virtual), video-paired instruction, illustrated work either self-led or in a group, instructor-led classroom sessions, AR/VR assisted, and animations. All company-specific content developed during the project become the property of the client and all proprietary information will be protected by a non-disclosure agreement. In addition to recruiting and tailored training services, the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program offers a dynamic suite of organizational development and operational excellence training and consulting services. Highlights The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program accelerates facility start-ups and expansions by expediting recruiting and shortening the new-hire learning curve. Program benefits are delivered as customized services provided at no charge to eligible companies as an incentive for job creation. The highly customized job-specific training services are delivered using methodologies and media determined to be most effective for accelerating learning in each topic. These can include: Hands-on training Simulations Broadcast-quality videos Illustrated work instructions Instructor-led classroom sessions Animations E-learning modules Eligibility The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program is a discretionary incentive available to competitive economic development projects that create direct jobs in the Commonwealth.  Significant job creation and capital investment are required to establish eligibility.  All aspects of eligibility are determined on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of VEDP.  The general eligibility guidelines are as follows: Both new to Virginia and existing Virginia company expansion projects are eligible. The project must be affiliated with a basic employer, meaning most of the facility’s revenue must be generated outside the Commonwealth. The project must be an active and realistic competition between Virginia and another state or country for attracting the project. At the appropriate time, public announcement of the project must be coordinated by VEDP and the Governor’s Office. Each project must meet the following thresholds for job creation. Manufacturing and distribution operations:  at least 25 net new jobs created within the first year of operations All other eligible operation types: at least 50 net new jobs created within the first year of operations
