Our methodology
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated Jun 12, 2026
Grantsbase is only useful if the data is accurate and current. Here's how we collect and maintain it.
Sources
We pull from official, authoritative sources only: Grants.gov, federal agency funding portals, the Federal Register, state grant portals, and published foundation listings. We don't scrape unverified aggregators.
Collection
Automated crawlers run on a daily cadence. Each opportunity is parsed into structured fields — funder, amount range, deadline, eligibility, location and industry — so it can be filtered precisely on search.
De-duplication
The same opportunity often appears in multiple places. We compute a content hash from the title, agency, deadline and amount, and keep a single canonical record per opportunity.
Freshness
Closed opportunities are removed automatically; new ones are added as they're posted. See how we verify each listing.
