Participants receive cash incentives to implement selected conservation practices from the NRCS list of Climate-Smart Mitigation Activities. In this project, we provide technical assistance and work closely with participating producers to write a tailored Carbon Farm Plan. There is no cost to the producer, and participants can receive cash incentives to implement selected conservation practices from the NRCS list of Climate-Smart Mitigation Activities. If you’re accepted into the program, you’ll enter into an agreement outlining the terms and benefits and begin working with a regional technical assistance team. Participating in this program requires working with our technical assistance teams to create a Carbon Farm Plan. You must agree to implement at least one conservation practice from NRCS's Climate-Mitigation activities into your plan.

The following producers are eligible: Woolgrowers in York, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Cotton producers in Carolina, and Tennessee To participate you must also: - Demonstrate that you are in control of the land, whether through ownership or a lease agreement. - Have an FSA-issued Farm ID. If you do not have a Farm ID, we will work with you to establish FSA farm records within 3 months of preliminary acceptance into the program. - Annually certify compliance with USDA’s requirements for Highly Erodible Land Conservation / Wetland Conservation.
