Funds are also available for local governments, state colleges and universities, public and private K-12 schools, and nonprofit organizations to complete beneficial use projects that incorporate the use of ground tire rubber. Businesses must be sponsored by agency of the state, as established in ORC Sections 343, 3736, and all applicable sections of the ORC. An agency of the state may be a municipal corporation, county, township, village, state college and university, or solid waste management district and authority. Specifications: The Recycling and Litter Prevention Grant Program offers up to $300,000 for Scrap Tire projects that propose to create the infrastructure necessary for successful markets of scrap tire materials and related products. Source Reduction Grants Eligibility: Ohio counties, municipal corporations, townships, villages, state colleges and universities, public and private K-12 schools, solid waste management districts or authorities, park districts, health districts, Keep Ohio Beautiful affiliates, boards of education and non-profit organizations. Specifications: This grant provides funding for governments, non-profits, K-12 public and private schools, colleges, and universities to purchase equipment promoting reuse practices. Grant funds may be used to purchase equipment such as water bottle refilling stations, dishwashers, and hand dryers.
